Values:

- Supervise greenhouse by transplanting, fertilization, marketing of crops (selling) and harvesting. Prepare for agriculture lab courses – pots for planting and equipment;
- Assist Agriculture students with the lab courses;
- Routine farm work involving a variety of duties associated with general farm operations. Expected to operate hand and proper equipment;
- Responsible for maintaining the College Instruction Farm grounds in a neat and well-groomed condition;
- Supervise feeding the young piglets and marketing of livestock as well as maintaining the piggery facility. Give medicines and observe the pigs for signs of illness and report to supervisor;
- Supervise ground maintenance with mowing lawns and trimming edges along the planting beds;
- Remove week from lawn and garden. Prepare seed and medium for planting. Prepare planting bed and plant and mulch annual and perennial plantings; and
- Assist with routine clearing and maintenance of Agriculture Building and students working and carrying out class projects in the farm.
Associate of Arts degree in Agriculture or related field. Foreign credentials must be equated to meet US standards in the field of work using World Education Services at http://www.wes.org. Two years of work experience in Agriculture. One year of supervisory responsibility that included an agriculture program, personnel and/or information. Skills in proper operation of all farm tools and equipment. Knowledge and experience in the proper and safe use of hand tools and tillage equipment. Knowledge and experience in plant fertility and piggery farming. Knowledge and experience in the use and safe handling of pesticides. Knowledge and experience in plant insects, disease and weed pest problems. Ability to use common software programs used at the college (MS word, E-mail apps, word processing, spreadsheet, world wide web interface, etc.). Ability to exercise sound judgments in making work-related decisions. Applications must demonstrate possession of the requisite knowledge and abilities to carry out the responsibilities of the position effectively and within expectations.
