Under the supervision of the Cook III and the FO/Galley Manager, the primary responsibility is the provision of hot and balanced nutritious meals for cadets and others at the campus as part of a regular work schedule. Ensure three meals are prepared and served daily for all cadets, including weekends. Organize and maintain a clean, neat, and sanitized galley and mess hall at all times. Clean and maintain equipment and kitchen utensils after each meal. Assist the supervising cook with various cooking and meal preparation tasks. Help track and maintain inventory to ensure steady supplies of food and other necessary products. Restock supplies as needed based on inventory. Support in changing and improving the menu every six months or when necessary. Ensure food safety standards are met and uphold the quality of food supplies to prevent food contamination, food poisoning, and unnecessary spoilage. Collaborate effectively with other cooks and kitchen staff.
A high school graduate or equivalent. Preferred experience in quantity cooking for a substantial group. Preferred experience in a food-related environment. Knowledge of: food safety and sanitation. Basic cooking skills. Ability to: plan and follow menus. Ability to operate standard cooking equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to coordinate with others and maintain cooperative working relationships. Ability to tolerate kitchen heat. Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently. Must maintain good personal hygiene and hold a valid health certificate.
