Services Provided

The Campus Security and Safety Office is responsible for ensuring
compliance with national, state and local laws, as well as the policies
and regulations of the College of Micronesia-FSM. The officers patrol
on foot and perform security services, such as responding to and
reporting on incident reports, investigations, medical and fire
emergencies, enforcement of laws regulating the use of alcohol, drugs
and weapons.
Campus Security and Safety officers do not possess police
powers, but are able to make arrests within the jurisdiction of the
institution and referred to the local law enforcement agencies.
Investigations relating to this institution are conducted in a joint
effort with the local law enforcement agencies and a selected qualified
officer from this office. The Campus Security and Safety Office
maintain a good working relationship with the local law enforcement
agencies.

Other Services Provided:

  • Fire Drills and Resident Inspection
    • Are conducted routinely at the first month of the semester. Inspections
      of fire alarms, hoses, hydrants, fire exits and detectors are also
      conducted and scheduled for every month. Fire drills and inspections of
      residence halls are conducted on a need basis.
  • On Campus or Off Campus Activities
    • Upon request by other offices, divisions or departments, the Campus
      Security and Safety Office, provides officers to monitor and maintain
      peace and safety at every function, if it be on or off campus.
  • Emergencies
    • The Campus Security and Safety Office is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week to assist in emergency situations.
  • Timely Warnings
    • In the event that a threat to the community is identified a
      message is provided via e-mail and fliers throughout the community.
